The first step toward ABA therapy is often the hardest one to take. Parents tell us they waited months sometimes years before finally picking up the phone, unsure of what to expect or whether their child truly needed help. If that sounds familiar, this post is for you.
What the free consultation actually is
Our initial consultation is a conversation not an evaluation, not a sales pitch, and not a commitment to anything. It's a chance for us to learn about your child and for you to learn about us. Most consultations take between 30 and 45 minutes and can happen by phone or video call.
What we'll ask you
We'll want to understand your child's age, diagnosis (if any), the specific challenges or behaviors you're concerned about, and what daily life looks like at home and at school. We'll also ask what your goals are what would a meaningful improvement look like for your family six months from now?
There are no wrong answers. We're not judging. We're listening.
What we'll tell you
Based on what you share, we'll give you an honest assessment of whether ABA therapy is likely to help your child and whether our services are a good fit. If we think another type of support would serve your child better, we'll say so. We'd rather point you in the right direction than start a program that isn't right for your family.
What happens after
If we both agree to move forward, the next step is scheduling a comprehensive BCBA assessment a full evaluation of your child's strengths, challenges, communication, and daily living skills. That assessment forms the foundation of everything that comes next.
Nothing is rushed. You can take time to think things over, ask more questions, and make the decision that feels right for your family.
One thing we want you to know
You don't need to have everything figured out before you call. You don't need a diagnosis yet. You don't need to know what ABA is or how it works. You just need to show up with your concerns and your questions and we'll take it from there together.
